Recently we held a special Mother Blessing Ceremony for our 5 Appleseed teachers who are all pregnant (actually Lisa gave birth in early June - more on that to come!)
These five precious new mamas felt blessed by the many local small businesses who showered their best mama and baby products on the team. Each box was valued at over $200 and included:
-A baby Appleseed t-shirt with logo, and a sweet apple enamel pin from @presstimedesign (these shirts and pins will be available in our shop soon!)
-From Megan’s all-time favourite essential oil company Living Libations, the Baby Bundle of Joy collection for baby’s sweet skin, and a sweet tote! (@livinglibationsofficial)
-Joy McCarthy from Joyous Health used this all-natural Body Butter on her baby right from birth (@joyoushealth).
-Megan’s friend and yoga teacher Jazmine Stinson donated her luscious Sacred Goddess Herbal Bath Soak for each Mama to use postpartum. Check out her local and vibrant business, @littletreewellness. (She also owns and runs Wildhearts Botanicals - wildly crafted botanical and family-friendly wellness drinks!)
-Every Appleseed home needs a book centered around changing our world for the better like: Antiracist Baby, the new board book by Ibram X. Kendi and Ashley Lukashevsky from @penguinkids.
-Local chocolatier Soul Chocolate donated 5 of their luscious and beyond ethical chocolate bars for mama (@soulchocolate).
-Kelly O’Neill, Appleseed’s Birthday Party Queen started B is for Brain in 2018 after her dear friend suffered an incomprehensible TBI. Each teacher received an enamel pin from B is for Brain to support her and their life-changing work of “connecting heads and hearts through accessible yoga.” (@bisforbrain)
-You can’t ever have too many apple books! The new Appleseed babies will need to learn How Do Apples Grow? of course, so we included this book from @penguinkids as well.
-Each teacher received a cotton woven yoga blanket from @shophalfmoon to make sure mama and baby are warm.
-And finally, each teacher was thrilled to receive a beeswax candle - we will all light them when the next mama goes into labour. The point is to keep her and baby in heart and mind until labour is finished.
Thank-you to all the organizations who so generously donated these products for our precious mamas and babies. Our aim was for them to feel supported and confident in the months ahead, and I know they left feeling just that!
