Conifers🌲, Bears 🐻, Snowflakes ā„ļø and their Truths.

While on nature quests with my kids i’m often blown away by all the things I was ā€œsureā€ about that aren’t actually true. Below are three surprising facts you’ll want to share with your kids!

1) Not all conifer trees keep their needles. It’s true - one specific type of coniferous tree sheds its needles, the Tamarack. ā€œThe leaves are needle-like, short, light blue-green, turning bright yellow before they fall in the autumn.ā€ - Wikipedia

2) Bears kinda don’t (and do) hibernate. Some say yes and some say no, depending on the definition! Check this out.

3) Snowflakes aren’t one-of-a-kind! Turns out they fall into one of 35 different patterns. Learn more here.

May we find exceeding surprise in nature’s brilliant truths,
~Love, Megan
